Tex Tan Hereford Saddle Serial Numbers

Hereford brand is their top-of-the-line saddle. In my experience, the second number on the latigo keeper on a TexTan is the date of manufacture. Yours appears to be more like a serial number.
The first set of numbers is the model number, the second set is the month and year it was made, and the last set is the serial number. In the 60's they moved the numbers from back of the cantle to the inside stirrup leather near the stirrup. So your saddle was made in May of 1957. I would value the saddle as.
All Hereford brand saddles made after 1945 have a serial number stamped somewhere on them, usually on the skirt, under the fender. They used to put it on the stirrup leather, but stirrup leathers can be changed. If it's a Hereford brand, it should have a rawhide-covered tree. Fluiddraw P5 Crack there.
