I finally got around to doing the mod when my amp cut out at home. It's VERY easy!

You need about 3' or so of nice thick multistrand wire (preferably black as it IS a ground) and what I did was to solder one end to the shoulder of the W6 plug wire, which is a ground. The other end I soldered to the band of metal on the JS1 jack. Either of the two will do as they're connected; I did the middle jack which is of course closest. The ground is closest metal band to the edge of the chassis, as you would expect by looking at it. You don't even have to remove the wire bundle that's over it; just be careful not to melt the insulation with the soldering gun! I feel so much better now! At practice I have my 16 ohm cabinet so that's fine, but at home I'm using an 8 ohm cabinet (sometimes two) so the faulty ground is always on my mind.
